To Whom It May Concern,

I am a blessed, fifty-one year veteran law enforcement officer who has invaluable, across-the-board experience in all facets of public safety. My experience spans local, county, and state law enforcement in positions of progressive responsibility ranging from police cadet through Assistant Special Agent in Charge, to Chief Deputy Sheriff and now my current position as Inspector with the Georgia Department of Corrections, Office of Professional Standards. I have specialized training in patrol tactics, criminal investigations, communications, special weapons and tactics, and am a retired bomb and hazardous material technician, an active technical surveillance countermeasures technician, a P.O.S.T. certified instructor and hold a Georgia P.O.S.T. Managerial Certificate.

I have accumulated in excess of 5,500 hours of law enforcement-related instruction and earned an  Associate degree in Law Enforcement, a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Public Administration degree in Justice Administration. I am a graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College, the Georgia Chiefs of Police Executive Training program, the FBI National Academy, and am a recipient of the 2010 Georgia Governor’s Award for Contribution to the Profession.

I am a forward-thinking, goal-oriented, conscientious decision-maker with tremendous compassion for all mankind. I subscribe to the traditional community-policing model and religiously follow and apply James Q. Wilson’s “Broken Windows” theory in all facets of life. I strive to always do the right thing, the right way, for the right reason at the right time. I carefully develop and strategically employ innovative solutions in ensuring the public’s safety while maintaining and improving the quality of life for all. I honor the badge I wear and set the example for others to follow.
